TMJ treatment

Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ) can cause clicking and popping in the jaw, facial pain, jaw pain, tension-type headaches and neck and shoulder pain. A problem bite can also result from TMJ and can damage crowns, veneers and other tooth restorations due to excess wear. Dr. Chawla has completed extensive postdoctoral training in TMJ and orofacial pain. She can diagnose TMJ and recommend treatment for effective, lasting relief. Her treatment options include trigger point injections, home care and appliance therapy. If indicated, you will be referred to another dental specialist or a physical therapist for care.
